MASBO Institute is a four-day, intensive introduction to all areas of school business management. It utilizes presenters from school districts, state agencies, and the private sector to provide a solid introduction to the world of school business. The Institute is helpful for those who are new to the profession, and also to those who have worked in school business, but want to broaden their knowledge base. In addition, attendees leave the Institute with a network of peers and industry professionals who can provide information and support for years to come.

Registration fees include all sessions, materials, and meals. Attendees may commute to the Institute each day, or conveniently stay at the DoubleTree.

2020 MASBO Institute Rates

Your registration includes continental breakfast, lunch and breaks each day. Food is served buffet style, and includes options for attendees with dietary restrictions.  Also, on Monday evening you are invited to a welcome dinner at Lucky’s 13 Pub in Roseville. Hotel guests will be shuttled to the restaurant, and commuters can meet us there. Your meal is included as part of your registration. We hope you will join us for this relaxed, networking time.

Attire is business casual.

MASBO Institute will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Roseville Minneapolis, 2540 Cleveland Avenue North, Roseville, MN.

Attendance Requirements

Successful completion of the MASBO Institute requires attendance at all sessions. Please advise the moderator or MASBO Executive Director if a situation arises that requires you to miss a session or leave early.

In case of inclement weather, you will receive email updates regarding any changes to the agenda.  All attempts will be made to hold the Institute as planned, but as participants come from all areas of the state, with varying weather conditions, you should make travel decisions based on the conditions in your area.

CE Credits

MASBO will apply for Continuing Education credits from the Minnesota Board of School Administration for the program; the number of credits will be dependent on the hours of the program.


Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received by the MASBO office at least 5 business days prior to the event are eligible for a refund of the registration fee, less a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received fewer than 5 business days prior to the event. No-shows will be billed for any unpaid registration fees.

Audio/Video Policy: Registration and attendance at, or participation at association events constitutes an agreement by the registrant to association’s use and distribution of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities.

Code of Conduct: MASBO is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. MASBO will not tolerate harassment of event attendees in any form. Those violating these rules may be sanctioned, expelled from the event without a refund, and/or excluded from attending future events, at the discretion of the organization.
