Conference Pre-Session

Become an Epic Communicator

Our communication skills not only influence how we are perceived by others, they also can impact our overall effectiveness in our work. In this optional pre-conference session, learn ways to improve your electronic communications and your presentation skills:

  • Get Control of Your Inbox: How to keep your inbox empty and make email work for you instead of against you by "closing the loop."
  • Have Success in Public Presentations: The 5 P's - Purpose, Picture, Plan, Part, Practice (and how to coach your peers).
  • Better Graphic Presentation of Complex Data / Decision Modeling: How to anticipate stakeholder resistance and clarify the relationship between available resources, drivers, and reasonable compromise.

This session will be presented by Jason Davis, Director of Information Technology at UMD, and trainer in their continuing education department. This optional session is open to all conference attendees, but requires advance registration.

Thank you Ingensa for sponsoring this session!
